P.J. was one of Barbie’s friends, some of whom had their very own versions (like Sweet Roses P.J.), and some of whom wore similar clothes to a Barbie counterpart. Dream Date P.J. was a “counterpart,” so to speak, who wore a blue version of Dream Date Barbie’s red outfit from the 80s.
Dream Date P.J. had a gown that was half reminiscent of a gala, with a long, flowing, ribbon-like piece that could wrap around her like a stole, and that was attached at the waist of the skirt. The skirt itself wrapped around the doll and had quite a high slit. The top was a separate piece with sequins, which unfortunately tended to separate and show the “skin” underneath.
Still, this doll was an amazing sight and was very typical of the fancier 80s Barbies, with a beautiful gown that just made you want the doll ASAP!
These 80s Barbies, shown in their original outfits, were made to resemble what they looked like in the box as much as possible. However, shoes that have been lost may have been substituted.
